Almost everyone can ride a bike, even people who are extremely overweight, have bad knees or find other types of exercise difficult. The safest option is a stationary bike.
Done right, you can burn about 600 calories per hour and reach your target heart zone within a few minutes. Here's how:
- Don't coast
It can be easy to glide through your workout, but that won't help your waistline or heart rate. Instead, work the gears and keep your legs moving and your heart rate up.
- Mind your form
If you're not on the bike correctly, you'll tire more easily. For most people, the best position is leaning over at a 45-degree angle while keeping your back straight.
